Junkyard Butcher — Cut to Order Cut to Order — No. 001

JUNKYARD
BUTCHER

Brand strategy, identity, content, email & SMS. One operator, start to finish. Took one brand’s list from 15% open to 52%.

I don’t buy new. I dig through what a brand already has, find the twenty percent that actually cuts, and sharpen it until it can’t be ignored.

No templates. No fucking filler.

The Cuts

Brands with something to prove, in categories that don't make it easy — carrier rules, platform bans, a county line that changes what you're allowed to say. That pressure is why the systems have to be good. Each cut names the principle that did the work.

“Thank you @JunkyardButcher for bringing this reel to life and capturing the spirit of our community.” — Premium Blossom, on their own post
Film, because digital would have looked like an ad They'd spent years building something real, and shooting it clean would have made it look purchased. The answer was a format decision, not a bigger production — 35mm, where the grain does what no colour grade can fake.

Shot on film, on purpose. Premium Blossom already had a strong brand identity built around community — the job was capturing it right, not reinventing it. Shot their grand opening on 35mm film instead of digital, so it felt like family footage instead of an ad, plus recap videos that kept the same feeling going.

Not every job needs a funnel Some brands need someone in the room with a camera who doesn't stage anything. Knowing which job you're on is the skill.

Documentation, not a growth story. Bosky brought us in to document — the Transbay Challenge, the trip to Hashhole Island, the setup, the grow room, the environment around the brand as it's actually happening. Walking the floor while it happened. No funnel, no launch, nothing staged. Some of it predates the current process: freelance video, shot before the system existed.

Not on the wall

Most of it doesn’t sit still.

Retainer work, sequences that run every week without anyone posting about it, identity systems living in someone else’s hands now. What’s above is what photographs well. Ask about the rest.

The Menu

What Gets Cut

Four disciplines, one operator, in the order the work actually happens — strategy sets the frame, identity gives it a shape, content fills it, lifecycle puts it in front of people. Handed off between four agencies, that order falls apart.

The Dig

$1,500 Two weeks · delivered, not scheduled

Before a single new asset gets made, I go through everything you've already built and find the twenty percent that's actually working. Most brands don't have a content problem. They have a problem finding what already worked and doing more of it.

Credited in full against the project if you go ahead within 30 days. So the worst case is you pay for two weeks of someone going through your business properly and walk away with the plan anyway.
How the work actually starts

Most brands go looking for something new. I go digging for what's already there — and make it work harder.

Every project starts the same way, before a single new asset gets made: an audit. I go through what you've already built — old posts, an abandoned list, a logo nobody's touched in years — and find the parts with real cutting edge. That's the raw material. Everything else gets carved away.

From there it's the three frameworks above, applied to whatever we're building — a content calendar, a lifecycle sequence, a full identity system — so the work compounds instead of starting from zero on every single project.

  • Everything you've already built, gone through. Posts, the list, the old identity, packaging, the site.
  • The twenty percent that works — named, ranked, and the reason each one works.
  • The rest, and what to kill. Including the things you're paying for out of habit.
  • A 90-day content and lifecycle plan built only on the twenty percent.
  • A 20-minute recorded walkthrough — so it's a conversation, not a PDF nobody opens.
Skateboard on cracked asphalt, casting a long shadow
Off the Clock

“Skateboarding and entrepreneurship share a lot of similarities. Both require a willingness to take risks, to fall, and to get back up again.

That wasn't written for the caption — it's the whole operating philosophy, one board at a time. Same instinct runs the business: find the line, commit to it, and get back up when it doesn't land clean the first time.
